Glory to Savannah (The Civil Corps marching song)

Mine eyes have seen the glory
of the Church of Darwin's cause;
they have opened the lead boxes
where they've works of SCIENCE! stored;
they're breaking out their armories --
irradiated swords;
Civil Corps is marching on!

Glory, glory to Savannah!
Glory, glory to Savannah!
Glory, glory to Savannah!
Civil Corps is marching on!

I have seen the Glow that radiates,
from shrapnel from the Fall;
we've crafted from it altars
that shine with the evening's pall;
we chant the countdown's cadence
as we march upon the sprawl;
Civil Corps is marching on!

Glory, glory to Savannah!
Glory, glory to Savannah!
Glory, glory to Savannah!
Civil Corps is marching on

Maxy The Remnant

Max-y, the Remnant,
Was an engineer and jones,
With a clubbing pipe,
And a glowing fish,
And some camo on his clothes.

Max Cap a-city is a Darwinist they say,
He loves the Glow, but the Braves all know,
He repairs for near no pay!

There must have been some rads in that old workbench they found,
For when he sat down at its bench,
He began to laugh aloud!

O Max-y the Remnant,
Would repair all of the day,
And the Braves all say he could chop and slay,
Just the same as you and me!
Bangity bang bang
Bangity bang bang
Look at Max-y go
Bangity bang bang
Bangity bang bang
O'er your armor with holes!

Number Four, Number Four

Dashing through the snow,
Pursued by Barons' men
Into Bravo we go,
To all be free again!

Brass from shoots ring,
Kiva's porch in sight,
What joy it'll be,
To finally see,
The slavers killed tonight!

Ohhh Number Four,
Number Four,
Tiny Iron Slave!
Oh what fun
To drink some hooch
And pass out free tonight!

A month or two ago,
The generator blew,
And soon the slaves all knew,
Bravo was on our side!
The masters cruel and cold,
Misfortune seemed our lot,
We heard of Number Four,
To freedom our hearts set!

Oh, Do-rit-o,
Sal in snow,
John Henry laid an egg!
So many ask,
And hold to task,
Just who is Number Four?

What Babe Is This?

What child is this, who, laid to rest,
On Outside's lap is sleeping?
Whom Thursday feeds with milk so sweet,
While Bravosi watch are keeping?
This, this is Joseph,
Whom Braves all guard and King's Court sing;
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
The babe, the son of Tilly.

So bring him scraps, herb, and brass,
Come, slave, baron, to own him.
The child hope to Bravo brings,
Let Lou's two bats protect him.
Raise, raise the child on high,
Lest Gravemind shriek a lullabye,
Joy, joy, for Joey born,
The babe, the son of Tilly.

Rover Bloom Got Dragged Off By The Gravemind

Rover Bloom got dragged off by the Gravemind,
Walking 'round that old haunted Boot Hill,
Some may say the Gravemind Shard is harmless,
But that green bitch always gives me the chills.

He'd been talking with Slink too long,
And we begged him not to go,
But the need to know consumed him,
And he walked on down that road towards old Boot Hill.

When the sun arose next morning,
Nowhere was Bloom to be found,
Scarves were gathered, laid upon wood,
Memorial to a man we all called friend.

Rover Bloom got dragged off by the Gravemind,
Walking 'round that old haunted Boot Hill,
Some may say the Gravemind Shard is harmless,
But that green bitch always gives me the chills.

It's not Tent City without Bloom now,
'Bend and Family, dressed in black,
So many heads that go un-Shrunken,
We pray one day the bitch will give him back.

Rover Bloom got dragged off by the Gravemind,
Walking 'round that old haunted Boot Hill,
Some may say the Gravemind Shard is harmless,
But that green bitch always gives me the chills...

Green Lady Went Down To Bravo

Green Lady went down to Bravo, she was lookin' for some lives to steal,
She was in a bind, 'cuz she was way behind, and she was lookin' to make a deal.
When she came across this Yorker lad, shufflin' his cards and chips,
Green Lady came up with her Bonehead guards, and said boy let me tell you what--
I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a poker player too,
And if you care to make a dare, I'll make a bet with you,
Now you've a pretty good poker face, but give the Gravemind her due,
I'll bet Tilly's soul against your own, 'cause I think I'm better than you.
The Yorker said: "My name's Cadence, and it might be a sin,
"But I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret, 'cause I'm the best there's ever been!"

The Gravemind Connection

Why are there so many songs about dying,
And what's on the other side?
The grave is a vision,
But just an illusion,
The Gravemind has nothing to hide.

So we've been TOLD,
And some choose to believe it,
But I know they're WRONG, wait and see!
Some day we'll find it,
The Gravemind connection,
The psions, the zombies, and me.

Who said that an afterlife
Would be waiting for us
When we passed through the final veil?
Somebody thought that,
And someone believe it,
And look what it's done so far.

What's so terrifying,
That keeps us from wondering,
What do we fear we might see?
Some day we'll find it,
The Gravemind connection,
The psions, the zombies, and me.

All of us under its spell, we know that it's probably coming...

Have you been half asleep?
And have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name;
Is this the dread sound
That called our dead comrades?
The voice might be one and the same

I've heard it too many times to ignore it,
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Some day we'll find it,
The Gravemind connection,
The psions, the zombies, and me.

Songs of Dystopia Rising

So, I've got myself a habit of switching songs around to fit the zeitgeist of Dystopia Rising, and I realized I tend to lose track of them! People seem to like them, and ask about them occasionally, so this here is a blog to keep track of 'em all.

Permission is given to use these song 'parodies' IG if desired. Just let me know if you do, because that makes me smile.

If anyone else wants to add their own filks and parodies to the blog, feel free to drop in a comment or send me a message, and I'll do so!
